The Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show is back! Which can mean only one thing…Chelsea in Bloom!!!

RHS Flower show

To celebrate a centenary of dedication to glorious gardening in Britain, the theme set for retailers in the Chelsea area is ‘Decades’. As Victoria is a flower child of the sixties, we’ve chosen this swinging era to reflect our ‘Make Cashmere Not War’ motto; a blooming good display, we think!

Queen Jubilee

Last year, with your help, we won first place in the ‘Peoples Champion Awards’ for the best visual display commemorating the Queen’s diamond jubilee, and we’d like to do the same for this year.

As we’re celebrating 20 years of Brora cashmere, it would mean so much to us if you went online here and voted for us – let’s make 2013 Brora’s year!

Cashmere, Culture & Covent Garden

Friday, September 7th, 2012

london fashion week

Heaving with enthusiastic shoppers and excited tourists, last night Covent Garden was bustling with the sounds of wines glasses chinking, hums of music and the talk of fashion. The atmosphere was alive with a British culture typical of a late, lazy summertime evening, (despite it being September).

london shopping

Weekday or not, the market place in Covent Garden is always a popular attraction for a late afternoon to evening catch-up with friends. The fact that it was the annual event for Fashion’s Night Out simply made things even more enchanting.

A Proud Image…the Games mascot stands in full view at the centre of the Apple Market; a popular attraction with the children.

West end

Our Covent Garden shop recently had its first anniversary and so we thought it would be great to combine the event and celebrate an evening of shopping here. To further mark this we invited customers to come and show off their favoured Brora ensemble to be in with a chance of winning £150 worth of Brora gift vouchers.

All the ladies that entered looked wonderful, yet we felt Ruby, Sally and Manjit were more than deserving of our top three places. Having said that, Manjit has to be the lucky winner for her elegant top-to-toe Brora look.

Victoria Stapleton

Guests were welcomed by Victoria with champagne and sweet nibbles, where they also received a personal shopping experience as they tried on and bought pieces from our new collection.

Why buy one dress when you can have two?

This young lady happened to be passing by when her eye caught this Woodland Shirt Dress from the Scottish Highlands story. Having seen it on our sales advisor she immediately tried it on and loved the piece even more so on her. We quite like the idea of the dress being warn with plimsolls; great for the current sunny climate.

Overall the event was a lovely opportunity to meet so many of the Brora fans and get to know their thoughts on the new pieces; Victoria particularly valued the one-to-one experience, so thanks again for coming!

Getting Ready For Our Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

Saturday, June 2nd, 2012

As you may have heard by now, this year’s People’s Champion Awards for Chelsea In Bloom Retailer’s Competition was won by us!

queen's jubilee

We’re simply thrilled with winning the title and thank everyone who supported Brora and to all who came into our Symons street shop and complimented us.

A shop display window is the face of a store and so should be inviting, eye-catching and more importantly a reflection of the brand. This is why as a company we take so much pride in being creative and playful with the visual aesthetics of our windows.

As much as we loved our floral window display for the Chelsea In Bloom competition, the flowers couldn’t last for long so we decided to keep with the set theme of the Queen’s Jubilee and go a little crazy with the red, white & blue décor.

Knowing just how precious the Queen’s beloved corgis are to her, we thought that a cardboard cut-out of them would go down nicely as part of the display. Below is Elizabeth II, not yet a Queen, but a little princess very much enamoured with her childhood pet corgi.

jubilee weekend

The Queen’s corgis are almost as famous as her majesty, they’ve long since been a mark of any and everything British, showing just how much of an iconic symbol the chic little dog is.

Mother’s Day Competition

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

Brora

My mother is so special because…

There are probably 101 reasons why we all believe our mothers to be such extraordinary people in our lives, however we are setting you the challenge of summarising why in just 30 words.

Mother's Day

Be in with the chance of winning our charming Tropical Garden Scarf from the Riviera collection worth £95, simply by entering our competition online Mother’s Day competition.

Mother's Day

Perhaps you would like to nominate your mother purely because she is wonderful and such a continual support in your life.

Another reason could be that she is always on-hand with the children and so this piece would be a lovely gesture of affection for their grandmother.

Mother's day

This is Victoria’s mother with youngest daughter Lola, who is every bit the doting grandparent and much like Victoria, she loves bold colours and patterned items.

We are choosing five winners so make it a good one and tell us why your mother is so special!

The competition ends midnight Monday 12th March, you can enter online here.
